A suspect is due to appear in court after a man suffered stab injuries during a fight in the street – UKNIP

Officers were called to Bullace Road, St Ann’s, Nottingham, at around 12.55pm on Sunday (16 July) following reports two men were involved in an altercation.

When police arrived at the scene they found one man had suffered stab wounds. Officers provided first aid before the man was taken to hospital by ambulance with injuries which are not currently believed to be life-threatening.

Ashley Henry, aged 37, of Hogarth Street, has been charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public place.

He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (18 July).

Detective Sergeant James Hirst, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We always respond quickly to reports of violent incidents like this and officers provided vital first aid to the victim at the scene before he was taken to hospital.

“Response teams also worked rapidly to arrest a suspect and recover the suspected weapon.

“Carrying a knife can have tragic consequences, which is why Nottinghamshire Police is committed to taking knives off the streets and keeping people safe.

“I am pleased a suspect has now been charged and placed before the courts at the earliest opportunity.”
