After Assaulting A Member Of Staff At A Commercial Establishment, A Serving Metropolitan Special Constable Was Fired

On Tuesday, May 31, a misconduct hearing was held at the Empress State Building in SW6 in relation to the case of Special Constable Rahimul Ahmed, 21, who was assigned to the Central West Basic Command Unit.
The hearing was held in response to an incident that occurred on 17 June 2021 at a commercial premises in Bramley while SC Ahmed was off-duty.
Special Constable Ahmed’s behaviour was completely unacceptable, and I am pleased he has now faced the consequences of his actions,” said Detective Superintendent Tor Garnett of the Central West Basic Command Unit. We do not tolerate any form of violence, especially from our own officers.

SC Ahmed’s behaviour that day was appalling and inconsistent with Met values.” The Met is guided by the values of professionalism, integrity, courage, and compassion, and we will always intervene when an employee’s behaviour falls short of the exemplary standards that we and the public have come to expect.
The hearing heard that SC Ahmed arrived at the Surrey premises on June 17, 2021, and engaged in a verbal altercation with a member of staff before assaulting him.
Surrey Police arrested SC Ahmed on June 23, 2021. SC Ahmed admitted to pushing the victim in an interview. He was charged on August 21, 2021, and after a trial, he was found guilty of common assault at Staines Magistrates’ Court in March.
