Targeting the Elderly and Vulnerable

The first offence took place on 13 June 2024, when Georgiev approached a 77-year-old man walking between Lister Way and Irby Street. He grabbed the man’s arm, demanded money, and forcibly stole his cash and jewellery.

Just three days later, on 16 June, Georgiev struck again — this time feigning injury to lure a 71-year-old man walking through the same area. Once the man stopped to assist, Georgiev pushed him to the ground, covered his mouth, and robbed him of his wallet, phone, and keys.

The victim sustained serious injuries, including trauma to his jaw, cheekbone, back of the head, and bite marks on his finger.

“These were violent and calculated attacks against vulnerable members of the public. We are pleased that justice has been served, and our community is safer as a result.”
