Brothers jailed after police uncover large-scale ecstasy operation in Sheppey
A man seen inhaling nitrous oxide out of balloons while he walked around Maidstone town centre has resulted in the unravelling of a major ecstasy production line on the Isle of Sheppey.
His bold behaviour piqued the curiosity of officers to search him, which led to Kent Police launching an investigation into brothers Bryn and Connor Graham, who have now been jailed for a combined total of over 16 years.
During the evening of Friday 4 October 2024, police were alerted by CCTV operators to a man seen walking along Week Street, inhaling from gas-filled balloons. A patrol detained and searched the man, who was identified as 23 year old Bryn Graham.
Concealed inside his bumbag was a large amount of small bags filled with yellow tablets, white powder, and £240 in cash. At a search of his home address in Church Road, Eastchurch, officers found thousands of pounds in cash along with large quantities of ketamine, MDMA and amphetamine. Machinery used for producing pills was found in the garage and seized.
He was bailed while detectives reviewed the messages on his mobile phone, which showed not only was he selling drugs, but together with his brother, 27 year old Connor Graham, was involved in a large scale production and supply of class A and B drugs themselves. At the time Connor Graham was already serving a prison sentence for similar offences.
On Sunday 14 December 2025, both brothers were arrested and another search was carried out at their home address again, where police found more industrial equipment had been installed and set up to make pills, and a big selection of drugs ready for sale. Officers seized the equipment as well as two kilos of MDMA, approximately 5,000 ecstasy pills, cocaine and £1,800 in cash.
The two brothers were subsequently charged with production of MDMA, being concerned in the supply of ketamine and amphetamine, and possession of criminal property. Bryn was also charged with possession of cocaine.
At Maidstone Crown Court they admitted the charges. Bryn Graham did not enter a plea for possession of criminal property and it was agreed that the charge would remain on his file. The two men also admitted breaching suspended sentence orders which were then activated and incorporated into their sentences on Thursday 26 February 2026. Bryn Graham received a seven year sentence, and Connor Graham, who was seen as playing a bigger part in the offending, was sentenced to nine years and three months imprisonment.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Steve Brown said: ‘This was a significant sentence for two men who were instrumental in an industrial-sized pill production enterprise. They produced large amounts of ecstasy and ketamine. The sheer number of pills ready for sale seized by officers illustrated just how far-reaching their production line was intending to be, and how many lives could have been ruined, had the pills made it out for sale.
‘As well as custodial sentences, the Graham brothers will now be subject to a hearing under the Proceeds of Crime act to confiscate their earnings and ensure they do not profit from their criminal endeavours.’
