Million-Pound Scam Uncovered

A notorious fraudster from england/england/canterbury/”>canterbury/”>Canterbury has been locked up for six years after swindling millions from Moremore than 30 victims. Kenny Sanders, 38, posed as a legit businessman running an IT company but was secretly funneling investor cash into his gambling addiction.

Promises of Quick Returns Were a Sham

Between 2012 and 2018, Sanders lured friends, family, and clients into investing sums ranging from £50,000 to £350,000. He promised juicy returns of 3 to 20 percent every 40 to 60 days — returns that never came.

Some victims went as far as remortgaging their homes or starting new businesses just to fund his fake enterprise. One disabled woman was conned into putting 75% of her life savings into Sanders’ scam after meeting him through a mutual friend.

Gambling Addiction Fueled Massive Losses

Evidence from The Gambling Commission revealed Sanders spent millions on nonstop betting. His gambling sessions ran from 7am to 1am daily, covering horse racing, greyhound racing, and football matches.

The Big Reveal and Justice Served

In a twist, Sanders reported his own crime to kent-england/”>Kent Police in August 2018 and even texted his victims to confess his fraud. But the damage was done. Charged with 11 counts of fraud by false representation, he was sentenced this Weekweek at Canterbury Crown Court.

“Sanders gained the trust of family and friends, making them think he was nothing other than a respectable businessman but in fact he was conning them in order to fund his own gambling habit,” said Detective Constable Mark Huttley.

“Victims have lost homes and businesses due to his lies and it is right that he now faces the consequences of his actions.”

Kent Police have made it clear they’ll continue chasing fraudsters to protect victims and uphold justice.
