Chatham drug dealer to face justice

A suspected drug dealer has been charged with offences in Chatham. On the afternoon of Monday 11 November 2019 patrols spotted a suspected drug deal taking place in Ordnance Street. One man left the scene on a bicycle and was followed then stopped by officers near New Road. A subsequent search of the area resulted in crack cocaine and heroin with an approximate street value of up to £4,000 being seized plus 10 bags of cannabis, two phones and cash. Following enquiries, Daniel Edwards, formerly of Dock Road, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply class crack cocaine and heroin, possession with intent to supply cannabis and possession of criminal property. The 25-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 12 September 2019.At the hearing, Edwards was further remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on 10 December 2019.
