Sam Modi, aged 24, of The Street, Deal, was sentenced on 9 February 2022 at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court. They pleaded guilty to driving above the legal drug-drive limit, in Sandwich, on 28 August 2021. When stopped they gave a reading of 4.2 microgrammes of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (cannabis) in one litre of blood. The legal limit is 2 microgrammes. They also gave a reading of 153 microgrammes of Benzoylecgonine in one litre of blood. The legal limit is 50 microgrammes. They were disqualified from driving for a total of 3 years and fined £120. They were also ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £85.
