Sam Modi, 24, from The Street, Deal, faced the music at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 9 February 2022. Modi pleaded guilty to driving with illegal drug levels after a roadside test on 28 August 2021.
Over the Limit on Cannabis and Cocaine Traces
Tests revealed a whopping 4.2 microgrammes of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) per litre of blood—more than double the 2 microgramme legal limit. It didn’t stop there; Modi also had 153 microgrammes of Benzoylecgonine (a cocaine metabolite) per litre of blood, blasting past the 50 microgramme legal threshold.
Tough Sentence: Three-Year Driving Ban and Fines
Modi was slapped with a three-year driving disqualification. On top of that, they received a £120 fine, a £34 surcharge, and must pay £85 in costs. A stark warning to anyone thinking of driving high on the roads.
