Second Man Arrested Over Throat-Slitting Murder in Folkestone

Victim, 50s, Found Dead by Harbour Wall

Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have swooped with a second arrest after a local man in his 50s was found with his throat slit in Folkestone. Police were called just after 2am on Saturday 19 August 2017 to a serious incident near the harbour wall.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two Men Now in Custody

Officers worked through the night. By 5.30am, a 56-year-old man was arrested. A second man, in his 30s, was also taken into custody later. Both remain held as enquiries continue.

Scene Reopened After Hours of Closure

Marine Parade was shut for several hours but reopened once the initial investigation was complete. The victim’s family have been informed.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Officers urge anyone with information to contact Kent Police on 101, quoting reference 19-0176.
