East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) is currently responding to a fire in Upper Avenue, Eastbourne, following a small gas explosion in a shed late this evening.
According to bystanders, the explosion occurred around 11 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024. The incident prompted an immediate response from local fire crews, who were swiftly dispatched to the scene to contain the fire and prevent further damage.
Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang and seeing flames coming from the shed, which is believed to have housed a small gas cylinder. The explosion has caused significant concern in the surrounding area, but no injuries have been reported at this time.
