The woman who tragically died in a fatal collision involving a van near The Strand in Aldwych has been named as 20-year-old Aalia Mahomed, as her heartbroken family paid tribute to her memory.
Emergency services were called at 11:41am on Tuesday, 18 March, to the scene of the incident, which occurred close to King’s College London’s campus, following reports of a van colliding with pedestrians.
Despite the best efforts of first responders, Aalia was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

In a moving statement released today, Aalia’s family described her as a “bright, kind and beautiful soul” who brought joy to everyone she met.
