Huw Edwards, a former presenter for the BBC, has been formally charged with making indecent images of children. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the charges which relate to alleged activities between December 2020 and April 2022. Edwards, who had a long-standing career with the BBC spanning four decades until his resignation in April, is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning.
The 62-year-old was arrested in November last year and was charged on Wednesday, June 26, following a thorough investigation by the Met Police. According to police reports, the charges involve images shared via the messaging app WhatsApp.
