Four Young Girls Suffer Serious Burns After Suspected Explosion at Brighton Burger Restaurant

Four 12-year-old girls were hospitalised with potentially life-changing injuries following a suspected explosion at Wendy’s restaurant in Brighton on Halloween night. The incident occurred in the toilets of the restaurant on Western Road around 8:30 pm, prompting a significant emergency response.

 

 

Eyewitnesses initially reported hearing what sounded like a firework explosion; however, authorities have clarified that fireworks were not the cause. Sussex Police and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service are investigating the blaze, but no arrests have been made.

A Wendy’s spokesperson extended sympathies, emphasizing customer and employee safety as the highest priority. The public has been urged to report any relevant information by contacting Sussex Police, quoting reference 1241 of 31/10.

Western Road was temporarily closed while emergency crews managed the scene. Footage online captured the commotion as emergency vehicles cordoned off the area, ensuring public safety.
