Four Girls Hurt in Brighton Wendy’s ‘Explosion’ on Halloween

Four 12-year-old girls were rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a suspected blast in a Wendy’s toilet on Brighton’s Western Road on Halloween night.

Mystery Blast Sparks Major Emergency

The incident happened around 8:30pm, sparking panic and a huge emergency response. Witnesses first thought it was a firework going off, but police have ruled out fireworks as the cause.

Police and Fire Crews Investigate

Sussex Police and East Sussex Fire and Rescue are probing the fire and explosion, but no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Western Road was shut temporarily while crews secured the scene.

Safety Stressed as Investigation Continues

A Wendy’s spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with those injured. The safety of our customers and staff is our highest priority.”
