Man Suffers Serious Head Injury After Fall from Height in Ilford

A man has been taken to hospital with a serious head injury after reportedly falling from height in Ley Street, Ilford, just off Benton Road, on Monday afternoon (1 July).

The incident occurred shortly after 4:30pm, prompting a swift emergency response from London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, who arrived at the scene within minutes.

Fast Response from Emergency Teams

A LAS spokesperson confirmed:

“We were called at 4:35pm to reports of a person who had fallen from height in Ley Street, Ilford.

We sent ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, and an incident response officer. A trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance was also dispatched.

The first paramedic arrived in around five minutes. The patient was treated at the scene for a serious head injury and taken to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

The current condition of the patient has not yet been disclosed.

Police Investigation Underway

The Metropolitan Police have been contacted for further details about the circumstances surrounding the fall, including whether the incident is being treated as accidental or otherwise.

A cordon was reportedly in place for a short period while emergency teams worked at the scene.
