Man Hospitalised After Dangerous Fall from Height in Ilford
A man suffered a serious head injury after reportedly falling from a height in Ley Street, Ilford, near Benton Road on Monday afternoon (1 July).
Emergency Crews Rush to Scene
The fall happened shortly after 4:30pm, triggering a rapid response from London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. The air ambulance trauma team arrived within minutes.
“We were called at 4:35pm about a person who had fallen from height in Ley Street, Ilford,” a London Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed. “We dispatched ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, an incident response officer, and a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance. The first paramedic was on scene in around five minutes. The patient, who suffered a serious head injury, was treated immediately and rushed to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
The man’s current condition has not been released.
Police Launch Investigation
The Metropolitan Police have been contacted to investigate the circumstances of the fall. It remains unclear whether the incident is accidental or foul play is suspected.
A cordon was set up briefly while emergency teams worked at the scene.
