Man Charged Following Fatal Stabbing in Norwich

A 46-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a man in Norwich following a fatal stabbing on Friday night. Norfolk Police were called at approximately 10:15 p.m. on November 1 to a property on Mousehold Street after reports of a stabbing.

Emergency services, including police and paramedics, attended the scene, but despite their efforts, the victim, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A Home Office post-mortem examination conducted on Saturday, November 2, revealed that the preliminary cause of death was consistent with a stab wound to the chest.

Two men, aged 46 and 37, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. The 37-year-old man was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries, with a return date set for January 2025. The 46-year-old man, Elvis Vickers of Mousehold Street, Norwich, was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has now been charged with murder.

Vickers has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 4, 2024.

The property on Mousehold Street remains cordoned off as police continue their investigation and gather evidence. The cordon is expected to remain in place for the next few days.
