Man Charged With Camden Murder Following Extradition From France

A man has been charged with the murder of Ahmed Ali Jama in Camden after being extradited from France, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.

Arrest and charge

Arlind Hashani, 22 , of Bray Fellows Road, NW3, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 15 August where he was formally charged with murder.

Hashani was arrested in Paris on 30 July before being extradited back to the UK.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Wood Green Crown Court on Tuesday, 19 August.

The incident

The charge relates to the fatal stabbing of Ahmed Ali Jama, 29, who was found with stab wounds near Gaymead, on the Abbey Estate in Abbey Road, Camden, at around 19:32hrs on 29 December 2023.

Emergency services, including officers and paramedics, provided first aid and Ahmed was rushed to hospital, where he sadly died later that evening.

Ongoing court proceedings

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the investigation into Ahmed’s death remains ongoing as court proceedings continue.
