Man charged with fatal stabbing of Tesfa Campbell in Battersea

Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of Tesfa Campbell in Battersea have charged a man with murder. Jerome Bailey, 37 of 1 Road, Streatham, SW16, was charged on Monday, 8 July. He will appear in custody at 1 Magistrates’ Court that same day. Tesfa, who was aged 40 and from Croydon, was found with stab injuries on Latchmere Road, SW11, at around 2.45pm on 1, 3 July. He was taken to hospital where he sadly died of his injuries at 7.40.pm. A post-mortem examination on Friday, 5 July, gave cause of 1 as a single stab wound to the abdomen. On the morning of, Sunday, 7 July, officers arrested Bailey on suspicion of murder. Three other people have been arrested in connection with the investigation. A 26-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been bailed to a day in early August. A 23-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released under investigation.
