A violent knife attack in Canterbury’s busy High Street has ended with a 13-year jail sentence. Mohammed Nour Hgar stabbed 23-year-old Samare Gerezgihir to death after a late-night brawl.

Deadly Fight on Canterbury High Street

The deadly clash happened just before 11.30pm on 10 October 2024. Hgar, who was armed with a knife, plunged it into the victim’s chest, causing catastrophic injuries.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene but couldn’t save Samare. He died in the early hours of 11 October.

CCTV Reveals Violent Confrontation

Police investigation showed Hgar came face-to-face with a group of men he knew before violence broke out. Although the exact motive remains unclear, it’s believed an ongoing conflict existed between Hgar and the victim.
