Man Admits Murder of Young Wife in Croydon
A 24-year-old man has confessed to killing his 19-year-old wife in a shocking Croydon case. Sahil Sharma, from Ash Tree Way, appeared at Kingston Crown Court on Thursday, February 8, where he pleaded guilty to murdering Mehak Sharma.
Family Devastated by Brutal Killing
Detective Inspector Laura Semple of the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy. She said, “Sahil Sharma’s actions have devastated a family. In killing his wife, he has robbed her family of a loving daughter for reasons known only to himself.”
DI Semple confirmed the guilty plea may spare Mehak’s loved ones the trauma of a trial but stressed the profound loss they continue to endure. Sentencing is set for Friday, April 26 at the same court.

DI Semple highlighted the tragedy’s impact, saying, “Mehak was killed in her own home, the place where she should have been safest, by the person who should have loved and protected her. My thoughts are with her family and loved ones.”
The case also serves as a warning: in emergencies where life is at risk, always call 999. For those with hearing or speech impairments, textphone service (18000) or emergencySMS (text 999 after pre-registration) are available for urgent help.
