Cop Caught Out: PC Shareen Kashif Guilty of Covering Up Husband’s Crimes
Fast-Track Hearing Bans Dishonest Officer
PC Shareen Kashif faced a rapid misconduct hearing after pleading guilty at Southwark Crown Court on 15 September to concealing criminal property. On 2 December, the hearing confirmed she breached professional standards on honesty, integrity, and discreditable conduct. All allegations were upheld.
Ban From The Job
Based at the Central East Command Unit, Kashif will now be added to the College of Policing’s Barred List. This blacklist means she can never work in policing, or related bodies like the Independent Office for Police Conduct or the fire service watchdog.
Met Slams ‘Dishonest and Deceitful’ Behaviour
“Plain and simple, there’s no place in the Met for officers who act like this,” stated Assistant Commissioner Helen Ball during the hearing. Commander Paul Betts added, “Her behaviour was exposed thanks to the Met’s Anti-Corruption Command and Independent Office for Police Conduct. We are committed to rooting out those who let us and the public down.”
Linked to Husband’s Crimes
PC Kashif admitted covering up proceeds from her husband’s criminal activities. Her husband, Kashif Mahmood, 32, himself a former officer at Central East, was dismissed in November 2020 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to acquire criminal property and misconduct in public office.
Kashif was arrested on 7 July 2020 and suspended immediately. The Met’s swift action shows zero tolerance for crooked cops.
