In a shocking incident that sent shockwaves through the community, a 38-year-old man named Lee Belsham has been sentenced to seven years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman in Knottingley. The assault took place on Sowgate Lane on the afternoon of March 6th.
The victim, who was walking in the park at the time, was suddenly attacked from behind by Belsham. He forcefully tackled her to the ground before subjecting her to a horrifying sexual assault. Witnesses on the scene observed a man fleeing from the area, and thanks to CCTV footage, police officers were able to identify Belsham as the perpetrator.
