Cocaine has been found inside a car after patrolling officers signalled for the driver to stop in Rochester

Patrols from the Proactive Targeting Team at Kent Police spotted a suspicious vehicle and signalled for the driver of the car to stop in Harbledown Road. The vehicle came to a stop on Watling Street just after midday on Friday 6 October 2023 and officers carried out a search.

A large quantity of cash was found in an envelope on the front passenger floor and under one of the car’s sun visors. This was seized along with multiple phones and wraps of suspected cocaine, which were found stored in the back of a mobile phone case.

A 55-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman from Dartford were taken into custody where, following further searches, officers discovered around 30 wraps of cocaine.

The suspects, who were detained on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, have since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
