A 15-year-old boy from Northumberland has been charged with preparing an act of terrorism and membership of a proscribed organisation, police have confirmed.
Teen Remanded in Custody
The teenager was charged on Wednesday, 26 February, with:
? Engaging in conduct in preparation for committing acts of terrorism – Contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
? Membership of a proscribed organisation – Contrary to Section 11 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
As part of the investigation, a home in Northumberland was searched.
Police Statement
CTPNE said the arrest was made to prevent any potential threat to public safety and that they continue to work closely with local agencies to investigate.
