Police received reports that between 8pm and 9.15pm, the boy was assaulted in Hinkler Green and suffered a non-life threatening wound to his leg, suspected to have been caused by a knife.
Police have now arrested a 16-year-old boy from Southampton on suspicion of Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in custody at the current time.
