A man in his 70s has been taken to hospital with a head injury following an altercation involving three men on Blackstock Road in Finsbury Park.

Police were called to the scene at 6:22pm on Tuesday evening after reports of a street fight. During the incident, the elderly man — who is not believed to have been directly involved in the altercation — sustained a minor head injury. He was taken to hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.

Two men, aged 25 and 28, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray. Both have since been released on bail as officers continue their enquiries.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:

“An investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information or footage, is asked to contact police by calling 101 or posting on X @MetCC quoting CAD 6460/25MAR.”

The area remained busy with onlookers during the incident, and investigators are urging anyone who may have recorded video or dashcam footage to come forward.
