Police Seek Witnesses to Serious Assault at Faversham Hop Festival

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault that took place during the Faversham Hop Festival on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

The incident occurred near Standard Quay at around 5:35 p.m. The victim, a man in his 50s, was standing at the main bar when he was approached by an unknown individual. Following an altercation, the suspect is alleged to have assaulted the victim, causing a serious injury to one of his ears.

Kent Police have been conducting enquiries into the incident, including reviewing CCTV footage from the area. They are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant information who has not yet spoken to the police to come forward.

The suspect is described as a white male, aged between 30 and 40 years old, around 6 feet tall, of slim build, with slightly curly brown hair. At the time of the assault, he was wearing a white long-sleeved top. He was accompanied by two other white males—one of similar age, with dark hair and wearing dark clothing, and the other described as having a large build and being older.

Police are encouraging those who may have witnessed the incident or who may have video footage from the event to reach out, as their assistance could be crucial in helping solve the case.
