Ryde Street in lock down man rushed to hospital

Police have locked down an area in Ryde after a Man was found unconscious this morning. Emergency services were called just after 6.30am on Friday morning after the person was found on the pavement in a very bad way with a head injury. Paramedics treated the man at the scene and they have since rushed him to St Mary’s hospital in Newport. A police cordon remains between Nelson street and George Street to establish how that was injured or if he was attacked. It is currently unclear how the person came to be at the location. Hampshire Constablary have said: “Officers were called at 6.07am this morning, March 15, to a report of a man lying on the pavement at the junction of Castle Street and George Street in Ryde. The man had a head injury. Following ienquiries, we do not believe that the man was assaulted. The man remains at hospital were he is being for treated.
