Serious Collision in Winchester Leaves Pensioner fighting for his live

Police are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision in Winchester. The incident happened at around 2.50pm on Saturday, 12 August, on St Cross Road between the Bell Inn public house and the junction with Mead Road. A Vauxhall Corsa, which was travelling towards Winchester town centre, was in collision with a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 79-year-old woman from Winchester, suffered a significant head injury and is being treated at Southampton General Hospital. The driver of the Corsa, a 20-year-old man from Winchester, did not sustain any injuries. PC Paul Blum, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward and speak to us.
