Winchester Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Afternoon Crash

Police are hunting witnesses after a serious collision in Winchester left a pensioner with a severe head injury.

Crash Shakes St Cross Road

The smash happened just before 3pm on Saturday, 12 August, on St Cross Road, right between the Bell Inn pub and Mead Road junction.

A Vauxhall Corsa, heading into Winchester town centre, hit a 79-year-old local woman walking nearby.

79-Year-Old Woman Rushed to Hospital

The elderly pedestrian was badly hurt and taken to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital for emergency treatment. The driver, a 20-year-old man from Winchester, walked away unscathed.

Police Urge Witnesses to Step Forward

PC Paul Blum said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward and speak to us. If you saw what happened and haven’t already spoken to us, please get in touch.”
