A notorious shoplifter has been officially banned from Borehamwood for three years after a spree of thefts rocked the town.

Three-Year Ban Sees Matthew Gladwish Barred from Borehamwood

Matthew Gladwish, 44, a drifter with no fixed address, was slapped with a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) at St Albans Magistrates’ Court last Monday (22 September).

The strict order prohibits him from entering Borehamwood — except for two approved visits each month to a designated family address. Essential shopping and travel spots are now off-limits, including:

  • Leeming Road
  • The Boulevard shopping park
  • Shenley Road between the railway station roundabout and Tesco roundabout

Breaking this ban is a criminal offence that could send Gladwish back to jail.

20-Week Jail Sentence and Tough New Restrictions

Gladwish was locked up for 20 weeks in August after admitting to three counts of shop theft.
