Sue and Noel Radford, proud parents of Britain’s largest family with 22 children, have seen their long-awaited dream of moving to the countryside come to an unexpected halt. The family had planned to leave their bustling 10-bedroom Morecambe home for a peaceful £850,000 rural retreat, but the sale of the house fell through.

Sue shared her disappointment: “We really wanted to move to the countryside for a quieter life and a bit more privacy. It was absolutely gutting when it fell through, but sometimes these things happen for a reason. It was upsetting, but maybe it just wasn’t meant to be.”

A Blessing in Disguise?

While the failed move was a setback, Sue admitted there’s a silver lining. “I always worried about leaving some of the older kids behind in this house while we moved. There are so many memories here—it would have been a shame to leave them behind.”
Despite the challenges, Sue and Noel remain focused on what truly matters—family. “Material things don’t matter,” Sue said. “So long as you have your family, that’s all that matters.”

The Radfords continue to share their highs and lows with the public, offering inspiration to many. The new season of 22 Kids and Counting airs Sunday, July 21, at 8 PM on Channel 5.
