A teenager has been arrested within minutes of a reported burglary in Maidstone, with officers seizing a balaclava, an angle grinder, and bolt croppers.

Police patrols were called just before 1:00 AM on Monday, 6 January, following reports of suspicious activity in Lambert Drive, where damage had been caused to the entrance of a bike storage container.

A swift search of the surrounding area led officers to stop a 17-year-old male suspect at 1:10 AM on Sutton Road. A balaclava was found in his pocket, and he was also carrying a rucksack containing several tools, including an angle grinder and bolt croppers.

The suspect was arrested in connection with burglary and going equipped for theft.
