The Major Incident Team of Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has made a third arrest in connection with the shocking kidnapping of an elderly man in Oldham.

The incident, which occurred on September 15, 2024, at around 9pm in the Lee Street area of Oldham, involved the elderly victim being forcibly dragged into a black car while walking home. The assailants reportedly blindfolded him, demanded money and personal belongings, then attacked him before eventually abandoning him on a dark road in the Rishworth area of West Yorkshire.
Police are urging anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward. Information can be submitted through the major incident portal or by contacting the investigation team directly. For those wishing to remain anonymous, the independent charity Crimestoppers is also available.
