Three Boys Charged After 16-Year-Old Stabbed in Dagenham

 

Three teenage boys have been charged after a 16-year-old was stabbed in Dagenham earlier this week.

Police responded to reports of an assault on Longbridge Road on Tuesday, March 11, at 9:02am. Upon arrival, officers and the London Ambulance Service found a 16-year-old boy with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital, where his condition is currently not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Four boys were initially arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) and possession of an offensive weapon. Three of these suspects have now been formally charged and remanded into custody.

The three charged youths are due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Youth Court today, March 12.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated: “Police were called at 09:02hrs on Tuesday, 11 March, to Longbridge Road, Dagenham, following reports of an assault. Officers attended alongside London Ambulance Service, and a 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with stab wounds. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening or changing. Four boys were arrested, with three since charged and remanded in custody.”

The investigation into the incident continues.
