Chairman Damien Moore highlighted that the initial conclusions lacked any rational basis, stating that the officers’ careers had been unjustly ruined by an unfair process. These officers were merely doing their jobs in difficult circumstances, and for their efforts, they were wrongfully vilified,” Moore said.

Following their dismissal, Clapham and Franks received overwhelming public support, with an online fundraising campaign raising over £150,000 to support their legal battle. Supporters argued that the officers were scapegoated in an anti-police climate.
