Officers investigating an assault in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses. Police were called at 12.35am yesterday, 10 June, to reports of an assault on a pathway near to Sycamore Drive. On arrival, officers located a 31-year-old man with a knife injury to his hand; the injury is not life threatening. The victim was with two friends when two unknown men shouted at them before assaulting the victim. One of the men the pulled out a knife and further assaulted the victim causing the injury to his hand. The two suspects made off toward Sycamore Way. The men are described as: A white man, aged between 18 and 22-years-old, approximately 6ft with a slim build. He was wearing a dark coloured hoody, with lighter tracksuit bottoms, with either a hat or a hood covering his head. A white man, aged between 18 and 22-years-old, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 11ins tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a jacket. Officers have conducted a number of enquiries and are now turning to the public for any information that may help the investigation. Were you in the area at the time?
