Woman Banned from Lewisham Jewellers After Stealing £1,200 Diamond Ring

A woman has been banned from Warren James Jewellers in Lewisham Shopping Centre after she stole a £1,200 diamond ring. Clodagh Spain, 53, of Brownhill Road in Hither Green, took a white gold one-carat diamond band from the jewellers on March 25.

Spain was arrested and subsequently charged with theft. Despite pleading not guilty, she was found guilty following a trial at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on July 8.

On Monday, September 30, Spain was sentenced to a six-month community order. This includes a three-month electronically monitored curfew and a ban from entering Warren James Jewellers.

The ban is part of the effort to prevent Spain from re-offending at the store and serves as a deterrent against theft. The incident highlights the importance of store vigilance and the judicial consequences of shoplifting, especially involving high-value items.
