Nicole Lines, 28, from Ramsgate, Kent, has dodged immediate prison after admitting to a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy. The court handed her a suspended sentence despite serious offences.
Illegal Relationship and Drugs
Lines not only engaged in an unlawful sexual relationship with the minor but also supplied him with illegal drugs. The boy eventually came forward, revealing he felt exploited and emotionally damaged by Lines’ actions.
Guilty Pleas and Sentence
At Canterbury Crown Court, Lines pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a minor, possession of illegal images, and supplying a controlled substance. She was given a two-year prison sentence suspended for two years, meaning she’ll avoid jail unless she reoffends or breaks court rules.
- 60 days rehabilitation work mandated
- 10-year notification requirement imposed
Judge Balances Serious Offences with Personal Struggles
Judge Rupert Lowe called the crimes serious sexual offences but also acknowledged Lines’ tough background and mental health challenges. The hearing saw Lines visibly upset, supported by a friend.
