Police are hunting for witnesses after a serious smash in Hastings that left a young woman badly hurt and a man in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
Crash on St Helen’s Road
Just after midnight on Sunday, January 18, officers were called to St Helen’s Road where a car careered into railings. A 22-year-old local woman passenger suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive. Shockingly, the driver fled the scene immediately after the collision.
Suspect Nabbed Nearby
Quick police work led to the arrest of a 23-year-old local man at a nearby address. He’s now being held on suspicion of attempted murder as the investigation gathers pace.
