Multiple arrests following fatal shooting
Detectives investigating the fatal shooting of Leon Maxwell, 38, in
Queensbury last May have made seven arrests. On Tuesday, 26 March, An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been released on bail until mid-April On Wednesday, 27 March, six people were arrested after a series of warrants were carried out in North West London. A 19-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and possession with intent to supply cannabis, a class B drug. A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and possession with intent to supply cannabis, a class B drug. A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. He was also wanted for being concerned in the supply of cannabis. A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis, a class B drug. The six people arrested on
Wednesday, 27 March were taken to north London Police stations where they remain in custody at this time. ++ Police were called at 9.02pm on Tuesday, 1 May 2019 to reports of a shooting at Cumberland Road, near Queensbury tube station. Armed police and London Ambulance Service (
LAS) attended the scene and found Leon Maxwell, 38, suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at the scene at 9.58pm. A post-mortem examination found the cause of
death was a gunshot wound. The murder investigation is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin of the Homicide and Major Crime Command.
