Teens Target Elderly Woman in Shocking Herne Bay Attack
Woman in 70s Assaulted and Abused on Blackburn Road
Kent Police are hunting a gang of teenage thugs after a vile attack on a woman in her seventies in Herne Bay. The shocking assault happened at around 1.50pm on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, on Blackburn Road in the Greenhill area.
The victim told officers she was confronted by three to four teenage boys, one carrying a skateboard. They sprayed a liquid at her from a bottle and hurled racial abuse before bolting from the scene.
Victim Hospitalised but Liquid Not Corrosive
Emergency services rushed to the scene and took the woman to a local hospital. She has since been discharged. Police confirmed the liquid was not corrosive but stressed the emotional and psychological toll this terrible incident has caused.
Police Crack Down With House-to-House Enquiries
All suspects are described as white males, aged 14 to 15 years. Kent Police have launched house-to-house enquiries and used extra policing powers in the area. Several people were searched as part of the crackdown.
Detective Chief Inspector Keith Taylor said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact us. Motorists with dashcam or residents with private CCTV are also urged to check for relevant footage. Incidents like these are very rare but we do not underestimate the impact it can have on a community. As a result, an increased police presence will be seen in the area as we continue our investigation.”
