A person has died following a serious crash on South Road in Southall, near the train station, police have confirmed.
Emergency services were called shortly before 11.45am on Tuesday after reports of a road traffic collision. The Metropolitan Police closed South Road in both directions while crash investigators examined the scene.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, one person was pronounced dead. Their identity has not yet been released, and police have not confirmed details of any other injuries.

Road closures and travel disruption
The road remained closed for more than six hours, with significant traffic delays reported on Southall Broadway and Merrick Road.
TfL buses were diverted on routes 105, 120, 195, 482, E5 and H32 while officers worked at the scene

Councillor statement
Local councillor John Martin, representing Norwood Green, described it as a “serious accident” and said:
Southall South Road Crash: Person Dies After Collision Near Train Station“Due to a serious accident on South Road earlier today there are road closures in the area to allow the Met Police to investigate. Please also note that TfL buses are on diversion therefore please find an alternative route.”
Police investigation
The Metropolitan Police has launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage from the area around 11.30am–12pm to come forward.
