A man was stabbed in broad daylight on Wrottesley Road, Plumstead, sparking a major emergency response this afternoon (May 7).
The London Ambulance Service" href="https://www.londonambulance.nhs.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="199394">London Ambulance Service confirmed they were called at 3pm following reports of a stabbing. An ambulance crew, an incident response officer, and a paramedic from their specialist tactical response unit all rushed to the scene.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service said:
We treated a patient before taking them to a major trauma centre as a priority.
The condition of the victim has not yet been released, but they were reportedly transported urgently due to the severity of their injuries.
Massive Emergency Presence
Witnesses reported seeing multiple emergency vehicles flooding the area as paramedics worked quickly to stabilise the victim before transport.
At this stage, the circumstances of the stabbing remain unclear. The Metropolitan Police are expected to release a statement as enquiries continue.
Police are urging anyone with information to call 101, quoting the incident location.
