Warning After Gang of Hooded Burglars Scared off by Home Owner in Sandown
Thieves were scared off in the early hours of the morning after targeting a home in Fairview Crescent, Sandown on the Isle of Wight on Wednesday night. The trio dressed in Hoodies are understood to have jumped over the back fence that backs on to Sandown Bay Academy into the homeowners garden. The owner of the property said the gang tried to open the rear doors of his home in the Cresent. But being a light sleeper he scared them off and they ran. The owner gave chase but suspected burglars managed to give the man the slip. Other residents the Sandown area say their properties have also been targeted. The incident has been reported to Hampshire Constabulary who say they are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to Call Hampshire Police on 101.
