Officers from Merseyside Police are appealing to the public for information after a serious road traffic collision in Southport. The incident occurred on Lord Street near Barclays Bank on Friday, September 22, between 2 and 3pm.
A pedestrian was struck by a white BMW, and the driver fled the scene, leaving the injured man unconscious.
The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, suffered a broken leg as a result of the collision. Inspector Emma Haffenden emphasised the seriousness of leaving the scene of a collision and expressed the police’s determination to locate the driver and the white BMW involved in the incident.
According to reports, the man was crossing the road when the collision occurred. Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the car involved to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking with individuals who were driving through Lord Street and may have CCTV or dash-cam footage from the afternoon of September 22.
