Blaze rips through garage in Margate

Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to a garage fire in Northumberland Avenue, Cliftonville, Margate, on Saturday, 7 September 2024. The fire, which began at around 2:28 pm, saw three fire engines dispatched to the scene.

Crews, equipped with breathing apparatus, tackled the blaze using high-pressure hose reel jets and main jets to bring the flames under control. The fire was fully extinguished by 4:14 pm.

The volunteer response team also provided assistance on-site, and thankfully, no injuries were reported. A dog was rescued from the property during the operation.

At this time, the cause of the fire is still under investigation, and authorities are working to determine what sparked the blaze.
