A car fire in Waterside Lane, Gillingham, prompted a swift response from the Kent Fire and Rescue Service on the evening of Saturday, 11 November 2023. The fire department dispatched two fire engines to the scene at around 18:45.

Upon arrival, fire crews, equipped with personal protective equipment and breathing apparatus, tackled the blaze. They successfully extinguished the fire using main jets and hose reel jets, a process that took approximately 23 minutes. The fire was completely under control by just after 7pm on Saturday evening.
