A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a rape investigation in Chertsey, Surrey Police have confirmed.
Inspector Ian Nash, leading the investigation, said:

“We understand the concern this incident may cause within the local community, and we are committed to providing appropriate updates as the investigation progresses.

“We are urging members of the public to remain mindful of what they post online regarding this case, as it is an active legal matter and we must protect the integrity of the investigation and any future court proceedings.”

Surrey Police confirmed that the boy remains in custody while investigations continue.

Appeal for Information

Anyone who was in the area around Chertsey Library on the evening of 27 June and saw anything suspicious is urged to contact police via 101 or report online quoting PR/45240072857.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
